We headed to Des Moines for the first weekend of the Iowa State Fair and it didn't disappoint. It was a bit more difficult this year with a nearly one year old, a nearly two year old (Lilah) and a nearly three year old - with the latter two in the midst of potty training. We went through too many pairs of underwear, shorts, and pull-ups to count - but still managed to have a good time :)
One of our first stops was to see my cousin Elizabeth's photograph that was on display. Grandma Cece points out the photo to Levi and Lilah (the yellow and black one.)
Levi and Lilah enjoyed the Greek yogurt that AE was giving out. Fortunately, Lilah is better at sharing than Levi is, and she shared her yogurt.
The kids loved all the animals, even the pigs that I swear were trying to eat them.
Corn dogs were had by all.

We took in a horse show while Finley slept. It was quite possibly the most boring horse show, but the deafly quiet atmosphere (you're supposed to be quiet at horse shows?) was lightened (or so we thought, at least) by Levi's neigh-ing (talking to the horses.)
The fair tuckered out the two cousins.

This was the very first year Melissa, Mallory, and Elizabeth didn't go down the big slide together! Kids grow up way too fast! It was hard to do our "family day" at the fair without Melissa this year.
Make it a yearly tradition and continue to take pictures of them. You can make an Iowa State Fair scrapbook!
