Ryan & Shannon's Cajun-Style Shower

After the haircut and watching the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, we headed over to Melissa and Joey's for a wedding shower in honor of Ryan and Shannon.  Since they are getting married in New Orleans, the shower had a Cajun flair, complete with crawfish, king cakes, red beans and rice, and hurricanes.  Unfortunately, I could not partake in the hurricanes, but I think my husband made up for me.

Surprisingly, Levi was ok with wearing beads.  However, he was unsure about the live crawfish Chris was holding.  Levi was asleep before the crawfish met their demise, so I'm not sure what he would have thought about dinner...

Ryan and Shannon are home!

Ryan and Shannon are back home in Des Moines for good, having moved back from California. We went to Des Moines to see them this past weekend and celebrate their birthdays (which were on the 10th and the 11th.)
We went to the Downtown Farmer's Market on Saturday morning with Ryan and Grandma Cece:
On Saturday night everyone came over to my parent's house for a bbq. The evening was capped off with scooter rides on Ryan's Ruckus. I had never ridden a scooter before, and I survived my first (solo) ride - although Chris admits he was worried when I took off. I did wear a helmet - unlike Joey :) :

Uncle Ryan is here to visit

Uncle Ryan flew into Omaha last night for the holidays. He spent the night with us before heading to Des Moines. This morning Levi and Ryan watched Top Chef together!
