The first official week in review! (Actually it's going to be a month-in-review...)
Finley Violet:
After Chicago she came down with some horrible virus going around the bluffs. It involved puking, pooping and not eating or drinking. Which resulted in doctor's visits, stool samples and a trip to the emergency room. She's fine now, but it wasn't fun while it lasted.
She loved the holidays, finding the Elf on the Shelf, identifying Santas wherever we went, unwrapping presents, and most of all, the FOOD! She still has the appetite of a high school wrestler trying to make weight. We celebrated Papa and Grammy's 60th wedding anniversary on December 23rd and everyone got to experience her love for food. She literally hyperventilated trying to get to the champagne cake.
She still loves giving hugs and kisses, hoping that doesn't go away anytime soon.
Levi Hopper:
Levi somehow missed all the illness going around (thank goodness). He was not that into Elf on the Shelf this year, but made up for it with his OBSESSION with Christmas movies. Polar Express and the Grinch Who Stole Christmas were two of the favorites.
He loved all of his Christmas gifts and each was met with the same excitement, big or small. His big gift from Santa this year was a Hot Wheels garage.
Another obsession is sweaters. It's pretty much all he wears now and was really excited when we went to Old Navy and I let him pick out a new one.
Some favorite Levi sayings:
- to insert "brother" in front of his relationship to someone. ie, this is my bother sister Finley or this is my brother Daddy. Kind of reminds me of a sister-wife
- calling lasagna "zazagna" (and then refusing to eat it)
After Finley was sick in mid-December we thought we were in the clear, but Finley puked on the 23rd, I did Christmas Eve, then Chris was sick Christmas day. Not quite a festive holiday like we had hoped, but it was still good.
I got some great gifts for Christmas, including a Yonanas maker. Pretty awesome, makes soft-serve like concoctions out of bananas. Levi also likes helping make yonanas and of course both of the kids like eating it.
Chris:
Chris hit (killed) a deer on November 30 in the 6 week old Durango. We got it back (repaired) on December 28th. $10,000 worth of damage, thank goodness for insurance.
We celebrated Rose & Denny's 40th wedding anniversary in December, which was coincidentally the first night of Finley's illness. She puked all over. What a great way to kill a party :)
